Meanwhile, Ted can't decide who to bring to the Architects Ball. After Ted runs into an old girlfriend, he tries to make amends with her since he cheated during their relationship. Meanwhile, Marshall and Lily make a bet with Barney that could force him to wear Marshall's ducky tie. Robin is forced to attend court-mandated therapy sessions after she assaults a girl who is about to ruin Barney's relationship.
